"Five" is a collection of songs that were already written, but not yet ready for release during the "If You're June, I'm November" recording sessions. These songs carry on many of the themes and concepts presented in "June" and can be thought of as a sort of extension of the first album. Although these songs are held very dear to me and are just as important to me as the songs on "June," they are deemed unfit for the band to pursue, as we have been experimenting with new ideas lyrically, melodically and sonically in recent months. In turn, we made this stripped EP so these songs can still see the light of day. The songs on "Five" should paint a picture and help carry on the loose narrative that is, "If You're June, I'm November." We are excited for you to hear this material, but as we move forward as a band, we are even more excited to show you what is coming next.
